YEN Mission Statement
To provide support for young people in our community empowering them with skills and resources to become successful in their personal lives (emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually) and in areas of education, family, and social activities.

Youth Empowerment Network
(YEN) Cares for Youth
        The Youth Empowerment  Network (YEN) is a group of local people who are interested in empowering young people in Wayne County, Kentucky to become successful during the adolescent and teen years. 
        The focus of YEN is to  provide support for and attempt to help young people in our community with needed skills and resources.
        YEN cares for all young people-those who have chosen to make healthy life decisions and those who have made risky behavior choices. 
        We believe that our young people will be empowered to make informed decisions if support, guidance, love and opportunity is offered by the community.
WHAT IS YEN DOING?
  • Examines local Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drug Abuse, and supports Prevention Measures for our youth
  • Introduced the (40) Developmental Assets that all Youth need to succeed.
  • Distributes Youth/Parent Educational Brochures at Community Events
  • Brought America's Promise to Wayne County
  • Partner of Kentucky Child Now, a state level organization that promotes healthy development of children and youth.
  • Promotes adult and youth training by attendance at the Great Kids Summit.
  • Promotes youth leadership thru YEN Youth Ambassador s Program
  • Seeks out and publishes opportunities for youth to partner with the community.

Annual Conferences - for youth and Adults to come together to share ideas, resources, and concerns.

*This Conference was facilitated by the YEN Council but was funded through the Kentucky Dept. of  Public Health-Tobacco Prevention & Cessation Program.
